Perhaps more noteworthy is the bank's checking account, which earns you 1 percent cash back on debit card purchases. Discover does not charge monthly fees for service.

Overdraft Fees

As with many other banks, Discover Bank doesn't charge overdraft fees. Suppose you don't have enough funds to pay for an expense in your bank account. If you've enabled the protection against overdrafts, Discover will pull the funds from your designated fund account. If there's not enough money to fund your account, or you've not activated overdraft protection, the transaction will be rejected, and you will not be charged any fee. The money market accounts offered by Discover have no charges, and there are no minimum balance requirements.
