Verizon VISA 2022 Credit Card Review - Is It Worth Applying?

Oct 04, 2023 By Triston Martin

Like typical "closed-loop" cards, the Verizon Visa Card can be used to make purchases much outside Verizon's immediate service area.

However, you may only use your "Verizon Dollars" - the card's currency — for discounts on Verizon products, much like a standard retail card. Payment for Verizon cellular or Verizon Fios service, a new phone, or associated products is all on that list.

If you want to save money on your Verizon account or get a new phone at a lower rate, it is one method to use the Verizon Visa Card.

Amazing Daily Reward Rate

The Verizon Visa Card, unlike many co-branded retail rewards cards, offers a respectable rewards rate across a wide range of common spending categories — not simply purchases made at the shop.

With this card, you get 4% back on grocery and petrol purchases as well as 3% for eating out and 2% for all of your Verizon expenditures (including phone purchases). You'll also get 1% back anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted.

According to the Bureau of Labour Statistics, buying food, groceries, and petrol account for a significant portion of most people's monthly spending. According to our findings, Verizon Visa has an average rewards rate of 2.47 percent back by our estimates, which is greater than some of the most acceptable cash back cards on the market.

Save Up to $10 Monthly with Verizon

On top of its regular incentives, Verizon Visa also provides exceptional monthly discounts for current Verizon customers. For some Verizon plans, you may save $10 per month on each qualified account or line when you enroll in Verizon's AutoPay program using your card.

A $5 or $10 monthly discount is available to any Verizon customer on a qualified plan who enrolls in AutoPay and paperless billing using their bank account or debit card; however, only customers with a Verizon Visa are eligible for this deal.

$100 off Verizon Wireless Bill

By signing up for auto-pay with the Verizon Visa and saving $10 per month, you'll save up to $100 off your Verizon cellular bill during the first 24 months of card ownership.

Suppose you're a new Verizon Visa cardholder. In that case, you must pay your first 24 months' worth of wireless or Fios bills using your Verizon Visa (or Verizon Dollars) to be eligible for this incentive. Throughout this time, a credit of $4.17 is applied to the bonus of $100.

You may save at least $170 a year for the first two years by combining this incentive with the AutoPay deal. You haven't even factored in the money you'll save by earning incentives on what you buy every day.

Verizon Visa Card Advantages

Four percent on grocery store and gas purchases; 3 percent on eating, including takeaway; 2 percent on Verizon transactions, including your monthly payment; and 1 percent on all other purchases are included in the limitless Verizon Dollars. There is no yearly cost. This card has no annual fee, so you don't have to worry about whether or not it's worth keeping each year.

The Downsides of this Card

The Verizon Visa Card may only be applied for by Verizon Wireless account owners or account managers on accounts with fewer than ten lines. Earning Verizon Dollars is excellent if you want to minimize your Verizon-related expenditures, but not if you are looking to save money on everyday purchases or book award travel for an upcoming vacation.

The redemption possibilities are limited in this regard. You may imagine that a credit card linked to a telephone would have protection for your phone. Unfortunately, the Verizon Visa Card does not allow this. However, there are very few possibilities for credit cards that offer phone protection.
